Director of Religious Education (DRE), Permanent / Part-Time
Posted: 18 July 2010
Position Filled: 16 August 2010
All Saints' Episcopal Church has filled the position of experienced DRE for 15 hour a week

The DRE will be responsible for:
- administration and programming of our Sunday School, nursery, and intergenerational family activities
- provide training, curriculum support, and administrative expertise as s/he works with our volunteer teachers, adult leaders, the Rector and other All Saints' staff
- integrate the children programs with the life, worship and ministries of the whole parish
- administrate our Safe Church program and CORI checks
Currently, the DRE will not be responsible for youth programming; however, this might be
added in the future. Hours are flexible but will include Sunday mornings and some time
on site during the week.
Qualifications:
- Experience leading and coordinating Christian formation programs for children
- College degree or commensurate experience in a related field
- Knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning practices including different ways of learning and faith formation
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collegially
- Proven ability to recruit, train and support volunteer teachers and group leaders
- Familiarity and appreciation of the Episcopal Church, its practices and traditions
- Knowledge and training in Montessori-based programs such as Catechesis of the Good Shepherd or Godly Play
