Our Thrift Shop is 50 years young, and needs some help to stay strong. This volunteer run shop is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10a.m. – 3p.m., and most volunteers work one 2.5 hour shift/month. We have several shifts in need of coverage and are hoping that you will join this small, but mighty group.
We will open for early take in of fall clothes on Wednesday and Thursday, August 29 and 30 from 11am – 2pm, and for regular hours on Wednesday, September 5.
Our annual feeding mission at the Epiphany School in Dorchester, B-Safe, is on July 5 and 6 this year. We prepare the meal for 140 here, drive it in, and serve. The B-Safe program is a Diocesan-run free day camp for at risk Boston youth, and is held at several sites throughout the city. Please let Maggie Marshall know if you are able to help cook, serve, or offer financial support.
The Thrift Shop’s racks are bulging, and it is time for you, the thrifty parishioners of All Saints’, to help us make some of these clothes disappear. The Thrift Shop will be open right after church until noon on Sunday, and we are asking that you take away anything you want that has white tags. Anything left over will be pulled from the collection on Monday, by our volunteers. And, while you are at it, feel free to pay regular prices for anything else on the racks. We have a lot of winter coats, and plenty of winter clothes for kids, women, and men. Come on down; the price is right!

The Thrift Shop has 4 shifts that are currently in need of a volunteer. The shift is for 2 and 1/2 hours, once a month.
1 on Wednesday 10am -12:30
2 on Thursday 12:30- 3pm
1 on Saturday 10am- 12:30
4 people volunteering once a month would make a world of difference to those of us already working at the shop- please consider lending a hand!

All Saints’ was recently awarded a Green Grant from the diocese for $10,000. This money will be used to replace our main sanctuary furnace with a new, high-efficiency furnace and to install “smart”, internet-connected thermostats throughout our buildings. Our current sanctuary furnace was installed in 1960 when the main sanctuary was built. It is highly inefficient, well beyond its recommended replacement date, and impossible to buy parts for. As mentioned previously, we will be returning to the Epiphany School in Dorchester on 7/6 and 7/8 to feed 120 day campers and staff. In addition to needing cooks and servers that day, there are several other ways to help. First, financial donations to help defray the costs of the meals and paper goods are always welcome. Second, the staff welcomes gently used beach towels and books for grades 1-8. There will be a box outside the choir room for you to drop off these items. Please contact me if you have any questions. West Virginia Potluck Dinner and Talent Show – May 9, starting at 6p.m. with dinner, followed immediately by a Talent Show. This join venture with our Central Congregational friends, is fun and a fund-raiser for the West Virginia Work Camp. Food, glorious food! If you’re free on July 6 and July 8, consider joining the team that is bringing food to the B-Safe program at the Epiphany School in Dorchester. We assemble at 8ish each of those mornings to prepare a meal for 140, and then drive to Dorchester to serve the meal. Volunteers can do just the Chelmsford food prep, or sign on to do everything, which usually gets us back to Chelmsford at 2:30. If you are unable to help, but would like to donate money for the food and paper goods needed, please make a check payable to All Saints’ and put “B Safe” in the memo line.
