West Virginia Workcamp Potluck Dinner and Talent Show: This annual event will be held at All Saints’ on Saturday, May 10. We will be hosting our Congregational brothers and sisters. We need three things: 1) people to coordinate the potluck component 2) talent and 3) people to attend and enjoy this fun family event. Please put the date on your calendar, look for more details in future e-bulletins, and contact Maggie Marshall, firstname.lastname@example.org, if you can help.
The Colors of Christ is a Sunday School class for children ages 3-6. The teachers, Emily Andrews, Emma Seyffert, and Abby Warren gave a Sunday Forum presentation for the parish where they demonstrated how they use the felt stories from the Beulah Land Curriculum to teach the stories from the bible. Here are some of the images from their stories:
On Sunday March 9th the Church School will be hosting a Lenten Pretzel making event at 9:45 in the Parish Hall. All children are invited to come and make pretzels! If you would like to help, please make us pretzel dough- there are several recipes online, but you can try this one.
The job of the Safe Church Advocate is to sit and observe the Sunday School classroom in order to provide a third adult so no one adult is left alone with children. This keeps everyone, adults and children, safe. Safe Church Advocates arrive in the classroom at 9:45 am and stay in the classroom until the Peace, when everyone goes upstairs for the Eucharist (if you are concerned about missing the sermon, you can catch up on them later online, where they can be found in both written and oral form). This easy role is essential for fulfilling our duties as educators for Christ and as community following Safe Church Policy.
We are still looking for church members to fill SCA roles for this year! If you are interested or have questions, please let me know! Send me an email or see me after church!
You can also contact me using the Contact Us page, choosing “Church School” from the “To be contacted” pull-down menu.
Summer Camp 2014 Presentation
Alessia Doss, BCH summer camp director, will be joining us at our Adult Forum after the 10 am service on Sunday, January 19th to present all of the exiting happenings of this summer’s re-vamped summer camp program for youth in the Episcopal Diocese of MA.
Parents and children are both encouraged to attend to ask questions and to hear about the many options children have in designing the best summer of their lives. Alessia will have a power point presentation to showcase BCH’s programs and facilities and will then be available for questions. There will be registration materials available for parents to take home with them, or to submit to Alessia for immediate acceptance (with deposit). We hope to see you there!
Visit the BCH website here.
Scholarships are available for summer camp. Families interested should contact Rev. Bill Bradbury or Laura Marshall. You can reach them both through the main church phone number.
My name is Emily Andrews and I am one of the teachers of our newest church school group, Colors of Christ. Our class focuses of the basics of religion for 3-5 year olds. We desperately need books to help with this! If anyone has books they are willing to donate, It would be greatly appreciated! We need books about religion or about the important parts of being a good person. (for instance Rainbow Fish) Please drop off your donations to the room off of the parish hall!
